Thenar Hammer Syndrome Case Report

 ABSTRACT

“Thenar hammer syndrome” is a rare disorder arising from radial artery occlusion secondary to repeated trauma. When the artery is traumatized repeatedly, intimal injury, thrombosis and vascular dilation develop. These vascular lesions result in ischemic finger symptoms like cold intolerance, ulceration and gangrene. In this paper, a case of symptomatic thumb ulnar side digital artery

occlusion which developed secondary to repeated trauma of the right thumb is presented.
